Assault and Flattery.

last saturday 31 Jan, some of our 77 classmates went to Assault and Flattery, staged by SMU law and tix sold by our dear CT Rep Ms Nang. haha, since we bought the tix some time ago we had to go right? (ps, somehow dun xiang forgot abt it and wasted $20)

Before that, i was the first to reach city hall mrt to meet jh and ke. as mentioned i was the first there and thus i stood at one corner where there were few ppl. then, a man approached me. normally, i would wave no, and say im in a rush or something and 打发他走. ppl asking for interview, selling vouchers. however i was (no idea why) in a very good mood with positive thinking and decided to listen to him. it was also due to an event which happened to my mother last week.

She was alone at home and the bell rang. she peeked out to see some bvss students outside the door. she thought they were would be giving us oranges or something in exchange for ang baos. she she thought about it for a while before gg into her room to prepare some $2 angbaos for them. by the time she returned to the door, they were gone. she called my grandma, who lived one level above us. Grandma told her that some students had also knocked on her door and when she offered them angbaos, they rejected and said they cant take the angbaos. And the students later on left a card outside our door, it was a little handmade card wishing us a happy new year, thats all. because of this suspicion my mum had, time was delayed and the student were unable to complete a simple and warm act. It was sort of touching and sad for the kids in my opinion and my mum regretted waiting, she said she should have opened the door first.

With this in mind, i decided to be more open and less suspicious. so i let him speak and he talked to me a close-to-indian-accent and showed me this paper he had, i could not catch a word hew said, but roughly got the idea that he is trying to say they were helping the jobless find jobs or something like that. i asked him who they are helping and he went on and on, and again, i could not understd what he is saying at all. so he wanted to sell me a pen for $2 or a keychain for $5. i thought, okay lar, just buy a pen from him. then he took out a pen from his bag and then said $4 can? i was like, but u said 2? he said, 2-4 dollars. and i said i wouldnt mind if its $2. then he said okay. and i gave him two bucks for a pen. then i told him "i dun think you are supposed to do this here (MRT station). and he said " yar i know dont worry brother". that swung my mood around and i concluded that it is more or less, a scam. although i didnt really mind, but it still hurts a little.

Thereafter when jh and ke came we went for dinner and later on the play. It was one of the funniest i've seen of a production of a school. haha, there were constant laughs and overall it was a good humourous display, to my liking =]
